Entry Requirements
Academic City’s Programmes are taught in accordance with the degree Programmes offered by public universities such as University of Mines & Technology (UMAT) and University of Cape Coast (UCC). Find the entry requirements for Academic City Programmes based on high school qualifications below.
- Minimum C6 in 6 subjects including 3 core subjects (Mathematics and English mandatory) and 3 elective subjects. (Elective/Add/Further Mathematics and Physics mandatory)
- Minimum D or a pass in 6 subjects including 3 core subjects (Mathematics and English mandatory) and 3 elective subjects. (Elective/Add/Further Mathematics and Physics mandatory).
An applicant must have
- CREDITS (Grade D or better) in FIVE (5) GCE Ordinary Level (O-Level) subjects, (Including English Language and Mathematics.)
- PASSES (Grade E or better) in THREE (3) Advanced Level (A-Level) subjects, At least two of the passes should be a Grade D or better.
- Minimum of 5 credit passes in the IGCSE/O-Levels (Mathematics and English mandatory) and a minimum score of 4 points in 3 Higher Level (HL) subjects. (Elective/Add/Further Mathematics and Physics mandatory)
- Minimum of 50% overall average pass. (subject to approval NAB) Mathematics, English and Physics mandatory
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (Mathematics, English and Physics mandatory)

Application fees can be paid via wire transfer, cash on campus, mobile money, or at an Ecobank branch.

Can I get a receipt for my application fee?
Yes. After payment and proof submission, an email confirmation will be sent. The original receipt can be collected from the Accounts Office.
Who reads applications?
All applications are reviewed and considered by the Post-Graduate Department Coordinator.
What is Academic City's intake in a year?
ACity admits graduate students once annually, for the fall semester (September). Check the admissions page for updated dates.
Can there be a refund of fees after admission or if a student withdraws from the course?
Contact your admissions officer before classes start. After classes begin, contact the registry or finance office.
Does Academic City provide financial aid or scholarships for graduate programmes?
Currently, no scholarships are offered. However, flexible payment plans are available. Learn more in the finance policy: acity.edu.gh/downloads.php
When will my application decision be made?
- Ghanaian applicants: within 30 days
- International applicants: within 14 days
I've been accepted. How long do I have to accept the offer of admission?
You must respond within 1 month of receiving your offer.
What documents do I need to complete the online application?
- A copy of your degree certificate and transcripts
- GTEC documentation for qualification equivalency (for international candidates)
- Passport or government-issued ID
- Curriculum Vitae
Optional: Additional certificates of achievement/training can strengthen your application.
Do we have housing facilities on campus?
Currently, housing is not available for graduate students.
